Sokka is a fictional character from the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is a teenage warrior from the Southern Water Tribe.

As the eldest male in his tribe after the men left to fight in the war, Sokka takes on the responsibility of protecting his younger sister, Katara, and their village. While not a bender himself, Sokka compensates with his strategic thinking, inventions, and skill with a boomerang and sword. He initially displays skepticism and a lack of belief in Katara's bending abilities and the Avatar, but quickly becomes a loyal companion.

Throughout the series, Sokka's character develops as he hones his combat skills, provides tactical expertise to the Avatar's group, and contributes humor through his often-clumsy attempts at leadership and his sarcasm. He is known for his strategic mind, and eventually becomes a skilled swordsman after training with Master Piandao.

Sokka's growth is also marked by his relationships, including his bond with Princess Yue of the Northern Water Tribe and his apprenticeship with Master Piandao. He plays a crucial role in defeating the Fire Lord, often devising plans and inventions to aid the Avatar and his friends.
